Why The Cedars?
We bought The Cedars house to make it a home for ourselves
and you, our guests. We come to
play and relax and hope you do too. WELCOME!
The home
was built in 1913 by the manager of the silver mine up the street.
At the time it was one of the nicest luxury homes in Kellogg.
Complete with leaded glass windows, leaded glass china cabinet in the
dinning room, 9’ ceilings, and 1913 vintage chandeliers.
It was huge by the standards of the day. We have fully remodeled
it, (except for the laundry room) preserving the vintage features but outfitting
it with modern appliances. It’s
now a 2677 square foot vacation rental that sits on a half acre corner lot which
is a perfect place to porch sit and watch people go by.
It’s owned by; Clint an Active Duty Naval Aviator, his wife Linda a
Nurse, Herb owner of a fire sprinkler company and Liz a HS Science teacher.
Real people who can appreciate how valuable your "free" time truly is.
We know you have a great deal of choice as to where you spend it, we hope our
home can be included in your vacation plans.
Why Kellogg
Idaho?
Kellogg Idaho is a
perfect playground for virtually all Outdoor Activities away from the ocean.
The Worlds longest single stage Gondola is .4 mi from the house and will
whisk you into the mountains year round. Summer
offers hundreds of miles of biking trails from town rides to abandoned rail
routes with historical markers and shuttles so you don’t have to ride up hill.
Golfing on a mountain course, if there are moose on the course please let
them play through. Then there is mountain biking ranging from dirt roads to
unbelievable steep mountain trails. There
is boating, jet skiing, and sailing on the Coeur d’ Alene river and lake and
fishing in the many lakes in the valley. ATV riding on over a thousand miles of dirt roads and
trails as well as in town for making grocery runs.
Summer hiking, gold panning, mine touring, and shopping up the road in
historic Wallace might interest you too.
Fall brings the beautiful colors as
the trees turn and big game hunting. Maybe
it’s your lucky year.
Then Winter. Ski magazine called Silver Mountain “the best ski resort
you’ve never been too”. And
that it is. Virtually no lift lines
means more time on the slopes and more untracked powder that stays pristine
longer. The resort speaks for
itself. Come try it! Snowmobiling is so prevalent that you’ll soon become
accustomed to seeing townspeople make grocery runs on their snowmobiles and
ATV’s.
Spring is beautiful as life reclaims
the land. Rivers for exciting
rafting and kayaking are prime and there are several outfitters around.
Golfing at 2 and soon to be 3 courses within 5 miles.
Again, give the large animals the right of way on the course.
